THE VIA FRANCIGENA!
3 days cycling, from Lucca to Siena, to discover Castles, fortresses, roads and paths of this fantastic region, Tuscany!
He contemplates memorable landscapes step by step , following the mountain mule tracks, the white roads and rows of cypress trees, the Roman Via Cassia, stones smoothed by the passage, now towards Viterbo, surrounded by medieval walls. He caresses with his eyes the geometries of the cultivated fields , the mirrors of the rice fields in spring, he observes the wind that combs the ripe wheat, the rows full of bunches at the end of summer , the bare and parched land of the Crete Senesi in autumn: every day and every season always give you new emotions, under the clear skies of the peninsula .
We will discover together from the walls of Lucca to Piazza del Campo in Siena, country paths, woods, the wonderful Tuscan hills and the famous walled medieval villages of San Miniato, San Gimignano and Monteriggioni.
A bike trip in the heart of Tuscan history and culture following the ancient pilgrimage routes that connected the two important Tuscan cities since the Middle Ages.
The route develops on dirt and asphalt roads. The steep climbs of the Tuscan territory require good physical preparation and the many unpaved stretches require skill and the pleasure of pedaling off-road.
